At this time the GSDCA is about to ballot itsâ membership in regards to the
Disqualification for white.



Should this pass, there would no longer be a disqualification for a white
GSD.  This has been a highly controversial topic as you are well aware.



The breed that is recognized in FCI is the Berger Blanc Suisse.  The AKC
has repeatedly stated that the GSDCA would have to provide a statement that
the club was not opposed to the acceptance of the Berger Blanc Suisse as a
new breed.  I cannot speak for the AKC Board of Directors who would have
final approval on the acceptance of a new breed.

Good Afternoon



I have a quick question that some members of The German Shepherd Dog Club
of America have been asking.



Melanie Fuellgraf has been kind enough to share with us letters from The
AKC regarding The Swiss Shepherd. (AWSA).  I understand that the GSDCA must
give permission to allow this organization to form their own breed and the
process.



My question is this:  If the GSDCA  submits in writing that it would not
object to the establishment of a separate breed within the AKC or the
Foundation Stock Service Program of AKC; is there anything that would
prevent AKC from allowing?  Example:  Because the white GSD is a DQ; would
this prevent the AKC from approving?



Thank you for your help.  You have been an excellent source for factual
information.
