My stepfather, John "Rusty" Rastocan, was on the USS California when Pearl Harbor was bombed. When the order to abandon ship came, Rusty went overboard with the ships priest. He said he thought it was his best chance to get into heaven. Fortunately he survived and served in the So. Pacific during the war. He was once declared MIA but survived again. He died in 1999. Rarely talked about the war, but was very active in veterans affairs. Karen Teplitzky ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2011.
