[ SHOWGSD-L ] Recommendations to the GSDCA Board - Anti Dog Legislation

I sent the note below to the GSDCA board this morning.

All,
I faxed a letter to Senator Sandoval yesterday. I wrote and mailed letters
to Illinois senators: John Sullivan, Arthur Wilhelml, Deanna Demuzio, Gary
Forby, Debbie Francesco Halverson Gary Dahl, John O. Jones and David
Luechtefeld.
I would like to propose that the GSDCA creates a new committee in charge of
educating and mobilizing our members with the goal of identifying and
combating anti-dog legislation. All of our present committees, from
achievement
awards to budget and finances will be of no value if we cannot keep our dogs.
All the arguments about national show sites will be wasted if we are now
allowed to own GSDs.
Paul Root has been trying, for years, to wake us to the facts that anti dog
legislation was our big enemy. I believe it is time for us to heed this
advice.
