Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: Rabies shot
I am almost positive that the Rabies shot was the ultimate cause of YO!’s
death. There is a lot of information about animal immunizations and while
it’s important to make sure that those antibodies are still effective, you
can do that with titer test if there is a concern. That’s what I’ll be
doing with my daughter’s GSP that I’m “caretaking.” He’s 10 and probably
has had booster every 3 years since his first and second ones. AND, did you
know…here’s a shocker for you: the actual 3-year Rabies shot contains the
same drug and is given in the same amount as the 1-year Rabies shot. We can
mark that one down to one more deceit fed to dog owners.

Years ago I lost a dog I paid four grand from a very respected breeder,
shot... spent three grand in Vet bills before the decision was made to put
the bitch down ( breeder replaced the dog).... why is it that the first
rabies shot has to be fallowed by booster shots.....I no longed give my
dogs a second rabies shot.. any opinions on whether I'm placing my three
dogs age 10, 5, and 2 in jeopardy? Ed
