Ladies,
What the Canadian regulation is saying is that the rabies shot has to have been
given at least 30 days prior to entry into Canada so that they can be sure it's
effective.
Kay, your dog's shot given earlier this year is just what they want to see.
No need to give another shot.

Giving an extra rabies vaccination is the main reason that I didn't take Harley
to Crufts this past year, when he was invited. I would have loved to have
traveled to England and shown him off there, but, there was no way around the
over-vaccination required.
I just had an ISO microchip implanted in Harley, so that I can proceed with his
CKC registration, but, I will investigate the vaccination protocol before
traveling there over the next year or so. No dog show is worth
over-vaccination of my dog. I think you feel the same way. Please keep us, on
the List, informed about what you find out.

The info in the premium list for the BC specialty the day before the
National says that "A rabies certificate is required to bring a dog
into Canada. Government regulations required this certificate MUST be
dated at least 30 days prior to re-entry into the US".
So my question is if you have given your dog a 3 year rabies shot
earlier this year, you have to give them another shot 30 days before
you come back to the US from the Canadian shows?
I would hate to have to give my dogs 2 rabies shots in the same year....
