One time my Champion VJ ate a pin cushion with about 6-8 stick pins and my
vet had me feed her cotton balls mixed with her food every 2 hours during
waking hours for 48 hours. She was a chow hound and would never turn down a
meal
so it was easy enough to get her to eat it--but not just one cotton ball
--there were at least a dozen cotton balls in each feeding--and I fixed a
bunch
of food rice with chicken and small kibble dog food. She was an adult at the
time too. It took about 72 hours for all the pins to "pass"
Dave is right--check with your vet--pronto!!

My old vet used to advise dipping a cotton ball in mineral oil and shoving
it down their throat. That was his treatment for things that were sharp that
got swallowed. Theory being: Mineral oil will hasten the process of
elimination and the cotton ball served to entangle the sharp object and gave
it mass to move on through.

I am not a vet, just a reporter. Check with your vet first.
