When you sell a young adult shortly before their first show, is it a better idea to keep themuntil after the show? After that show, his next won't be until Sept, so he would have lots of time to adjust. Thanks! I'm sure all your input will be very helpful. Shalaine @ Vineyard Shepherds and Handling If the pup is familiar with the new owner and appears to get on fine, I would go ahead and let it go. Better he gets used to the new surroundings and used to the new owner prior to a show career, after all, you want them to be able to alert the dog when showing (notice, no mention of doubling). If these aren't experienced dog people, then its your job to help them along the way. The first shows should be fun, no pressure, after all, it is still a pup. Let the new owners take the ride!!
