Forgive me if you already know this but this might help those who get mail through a dial up connection. A picture is made up of color "spots" called pixels. The more pixels there are, the more the picture can be blown up without losing clarity. However, the more pixels there are, the more storage space on your computer it takes up and the longer it takes to download. Most dial-up systems can handle the largest part of the picture (width or height) being 800 pixels wide (a scanned 8X10 is 3000 pixels by 2356 pixels). An image from a 5-megapixel camera is about 3 times that number of pixels. A picture whose widest dimension is 800 pixels will bshow less than 150 kb in Windows Explorer or My Computer. The number of pixels can be reduced through your photo editor. In Microsoft Photo Editor that is the RESIZE option under the "Image" menu item. Changing the size of how you view it on your computer does not resize the image when you attach it to an email or paste it in the email. Hope this helps.
