In response to Evan's thought that owners should not be punished is not true. Myself, as an exhibitor has a responsibility for insuring all rules are being followed in showing my dog whether it be my full time handler or one picked up ring side. You handle it by asking questions before handing over the leash. The vast majority showing at futurities have been around long enough to know this and should resolve the issue up front not after the problem has been addressed. That is my opinion.
