OH Sally, I love your wit !
I think back many years ago, I thought I would handle our newly purchased
puppy at a match. We bought her from Cappy Pottle and Jean Stevens. I took
her to a match and Cappy happened to be there. After our class, even though
we placed, Cappy said me to me "Beryl, do me a favor" I replied sure and she
followed with "Don't ever take your dog in the ring again".
It wasn't the dog it was me, that puppy became our foundation bitch and our
first Champion.
My husband became adapt at handling and eventually became an AKC licensed
handler. His skills never rubbed off on me. I was the one with two left
feet and all thumbs, Beryl, the feeder, scooper, bather etc, but no handling
ever again ! LOL
