Do you think that because so many of the Specialty Judges are also breeders, that the person that shows mostly in all breeds is intimidated? The only reason one would be intimidated would be if your dogs are so bad, the judge will know it as soon as she looks at them. If you have good animals you will want them judged by a top breeder. Would you place a dog you felt worthy of of the specialty ring in the hands of a person that only shows in All Breeds? I don't care where someone shows, if they know the breed, and can judge it, what they have done doesn't matter to me. Also, for years when someone won a big win, such as at the national, they immediately applied for a judges license. Winning does not mean you know how to judge, nor does losing preclude you from understanding out standard. To paraphrase Paul, a good judge is a good judge is a good judge.
