I always wanted to show my dogs in the Parade.....did so last year in
Utah and enjoyed it a ton. Yeah I know a lot of people aren't that
interested in the performance dogs but there were plenty of
conformation people watching and applauding for everyone. My dog Mike
(aka HI I'M MIKE!) had made friends with several conformation people
at the La Quinta, and it was a hoot to walk into that big ring and
here someone say "Hey there's Mike!" Enjoyed it so much we might
even do it again this year in Kansas.
I love it.....a couple of years ago, at the Ohio National, Pablo and I
went to watch at the performance rings, and made friends with a few of the
folks there. Then we met a bunch of obedience people over dinner, and had a
wonderful time comparing stories.
That Saturday, when Dexter was in Best of Breed competition, these kind
people showed up to cheer him on. It made my day, for sure, and they were
tickle to death they knew one of the dogs in the ring. When Dexter went
Select, these folks were as happy for us as if they had known the dog his
whole
life.
A good dog is a good dog. And good people are good people.
