Many breeders on this list care about those numbers, and do everything they
can to try to ensure that hip and elbows issues (amongst other concerns) are
avoided.
that said, please don't be fooled into thinking that just because the sire
and dam are ofa certified that they will not produce dysplasia.
x-rays are simply another tool used in the decision making process.. it is
not the only tool, and it is not a guarantee, nor is it the end all and be
all. This is what you learn in 20 years of breeding..
breeding is experimental no matter what you do.. when you are dealing with
living creatures, it all is by chance how the genes will line up. You can
breed 2 animals and have the whole litter x-ray clear, then repeat the
breeding and have a complete disaster..
the only sure thing in breeding is that there is no sure thing..
