Yes Norma, I realize osteosarcoma is cancer, but it does involve the bones and
can be diagnosed thru xray.
Yeah. No kidding its easier to diagnose a bone issue vs a soft tissue problem,
I deal with chronic lower back probs and would rather have broken a bone.
However, I was replying mainly to your statement that our dogs do not die from
bone problems....bc indirectly they do and they can be extremely devastating to
have to put a very young dog to sleep over that. I am and was NOT comparing
bone vs soft tissue effects.

Osteosarcoma is cancer. Sports medicine concentrates on bones since athletes.
break bones all the time. I have arthritis but its rheumatoid and is in the
soft tissues. Severe hip dysplasia will make you put dogs down but its much
easier to read a skeletal xray then to diagnose a soft tissue problem. I
realize that Roentgen invented the Xray and he was german however our dogs need
to get into the 21st century. That does not mean that I will stop Xraying but it
is time to move past the fiirst step.
