I think eliminating plaques is not the answer. I know many people look forward to bring home wood! After seeing my financial report form the 2010 Midwest Futurity, I think money could be SAVED in other areas. As far as extra plaques due to classes not having four in the class, possibly a different design for the plaques so left over plaques could be used the next year or even waiting to label plaques till after entries have closed. We close our entries the first part of March, most often the first futurity is at least 4 weeks out. Plenty of time to label plaques and mail. All specialty shows I chair, ribbons, trophies, etc., are ordered day after entries close. No extra ribbons or trophies ordered. No last minute order fees, no extra charge for mailing. I looked long and hard for companies who wanted the business and could serve their customers.
