I have some very strong thoughts on this subject and it is just my
opinion...the Federal Government is finally supplying things that are
needed
for the people even though they may be running a few days late; my $20
to
the Red Cross was not going to supply anyone with anything at that
point. I
pay my taxes and contribute to this effort through my taxes. Water and
food
should be supplied by the Federal Government. I feel there are enough
resouces from the Federal Government such as food, water, and security
(but
gas is another story) that should have arrived in a more timely manner.
My
$20 wasn't going to help it get there faster. But, the Federal
Government
does not supply anything to my knowledge to help animals in distress.
Now many of these displaced people have had to leave their animals
behind
either to die or fend for themselves. I would hazard a guess that these
peope will and have suffered stress and trauma from the loss of their
animals beside the loss of their homes. This can be a very serious
underlying problem. If I can help just one person get back with their
beloved pet I will be blessed. If I can provide something to these
shelters
to help save these animals, I WILL do it and thank God that I am able to
do
this. As we all know, we need to speak for the animals.
Believe me, I have many boxes ready to go here to help Greg and Linda
distribute to PEOPLE in that area; but I have certainly not forgotten
the
animals or people on our own list that need help. My heart aches for
everyone. We are an animal oriented loving society and belong to da
list...when disaster strikes, it hits us all (even the animals who
cannot
speak nor understand what has happened either).
