pat - your heart is in the right place. i've done what you call "hands-on"
rescue for many years and it's difficult and heartbreaking but can also be the
most rewarding experience imaginable.
but please don't negate what those who haven't either the facilities,
knowledge or physical ability to do the hands-on work do contribute - hours on
the
phone trying to place dogs or get them veterinary care is invaluable help to us
- it frees us up to spend more time with the dogs we are fostering and
rehabilitating. we all work together and, as long as it's saving lives, it's
working.
