as president of the Bayou Kennel Club in Monroe, La. I would like to let the
list know what has been going on at our shelter.
We have a wonderful group doing great work here. The Emergency Animal Resue
Service (EARS) We have had at one time over 300 animals...dogs, cats,
hamster,iguana, & birds & 1 snake.The EARS group brought in help from all over
the country and our local kennel club helps, and the great people of Monroe
have really come thru. They bring anything that is asked for..
Our dogs for the most part belong to people staying here in Monroe. They are
now being bussed from the new facility they are in, to the horse pavillion
where their dogs and cats are. All of the volunteers have become involved with
each animal and their owners.
The AKC has visited here and has helped to purchase much needed equipment.
Our kennel club has made many purchases thru our special account, and from our
own members.
I would like to thank anyone that has contributed to our "Relief account" Rest
assured...this will be used for animal relief here in Monroe, and anywhere it
is needed in this area...down south...and to the east in Mississippi.
Also a group here (of volunteers) from Okla.
