About two weeks ago, I posted this and asked you all to consider working with
the ARC and the DPCA. The response underwhelmed me, so I'm giving it
another go. No, I haven't heard from the Club Challenge Committee, but it's
still
a worthwhile effort, a few extra stamps and a great benefit. Let those
legislators of YOURS know that you have dogs and you vote. Please. Thank
you

    Subject: [GSDCALegislative] Making a difference

Last week, a great idea was presented to us all by a joint effort of the
American Rottweiler Club and the Doberman Club of America. A couple of us
(hopefully more) saw the idea as innovative, imaginative and workable and
decided to pursue it with our regional clubs, then go one step further.

That idea is to send our (generic "our") legislators a Christmas card.
And personalize it with a few words about us and our dog(s).

To encourage everybody, the GSDCA Club Challenge committee is being asked
if this could be worked into the club challenge competition...to make up a
certain amount of points for each club member that participated in the
Dobie/Rottie Christmas Card Challenge. The rationale was that it benefited
the
German Shepherd by educating politicians about the breed and let the
politicians
know how many GSD owners were their constituents. Of course, there is hope
that ALL dog owners of every breed, groomers, pet suppliers, would join in,
but
the goal for us would be our GSD owners.

There hasn't been a response yet from the Club Challenge Committee and I
do hope that they agree to give points for the card giving. BUT even if
they
don't, it is a worthwhile effort and something that every regional club
should take part in. Your politician can be found easily at :

Add a picture, a few words about your dog (read the great hints on the
Dobie site!) and send a few extra Christmas cards this year. Then tell you
other dog friends to take the idea into THEIR CLUBS! Very little cost,
great
benefits and a worthwhile cause. If we talk this up, it'll catch on and
everybody will want to join in. Time is rushing by.....Let's do it, o.k.?

Give me some feedback on this~~~~
