Situations like these are precisely the reason I suggested something like a
"Sunshine Fund" be instituted. YES...I know it would be difficult to put
together...but not as difficult as watching your friends loose their homes and
seeing the confusion in the eyes of their companion dogs as they are forced to
find other living arrangements for them. We are our brothers keeper....and as a
great man once said "even if you are on the right track, if you dont
move...you'll get run over"....maybe its time to rethink the parameters of the
PC.

While the economy is not affecting everyone, yet, it is certainly
affecting many and will continue to in the days ahead.
It is easy to look back at the irresponsibility of individuals,
corporations, banks and government, but where our own are involved in
the fall out of the situation, it is admirable that we rally together
and find whatever resources are at our disposal to help.
We found a fellow parked down the street in his old bus with no place
to go. He lost his home, and with the pressures, his family and struck
out from CA to Nevada to find work. It was a bad idea for our
unemployment rate is higher than CA. So we invited him to park on our
property until he can either find work or decides to move on. He
literally had no place to go.
So, we don't have money either right now, but we do have a lot of
acreage and if you become homeless, find an old motorhome, trailer or
tent and come on over. We'll all camp together.
I remember traveling as a child in a different time when we would stop
for the night at a friends house on our route. We don't do that
anymore, and possibly that is a shame. What if we had a spare bedroom
or floor space and offered it to people coming to our local dog show
to help cut costs of going? What if someone offered to sponsor an
entry or two at a show? What if a handler offered to handle a class
for someone who otherwise could not compete? What if....
I love it when we act like a family!
