I have been asked by a lot of people who they should vote for. I don't
feel that is something I should do, but I do know a few things that might
help.
Judging the National, Dave Rinke will get the most votes. It isn't because
his name is so familiar, or that he is some sort of "insider". It is
because he does a great job, each time he has judged in the past.He is
decisive, seldom misses a good one, and is assured when he judges.
On the board, I expect John Beamont will be elected, since he only lost to
Carmen by a few votes in the run for President.
I think Helen Gleason will be elected since we voted her to judge our
National with the most votes, so being elected to vice-present seems to be a
done deal.
Deborah Stern has worked hard for the club, and is an honest and dedicated
person.
There are a great group of people running, who I know well, admire and
would be thankful to have on the board, Butch, Bill, Doug, Pam, Lew, Ken, and
Gail would all serve us well. I don't mention the others only because I do
not know them, and perhaps they would be even better. If you know them and
believe in them, then vote for them.
Again, I do have great faith in our board. I know there are a few people
that often I do not agree with, and a few who do not agree with me. They do
things at times that surprise me and disappoint me, but I believe they do
so in good faith.
When you vote, think about who will do the right thing. Forget your
personal needs and consider the future of our club. Do not accept someone
else's opinion, and if you don't know about you are going to consider, don't
vote.
