The parent club offers an award for juniors in performance. My daughter
Won it three times I believe. Problem is there are not a lot of juniors
who
Actually take the time to train in the performance venues at least not with
a GSD.
My daughter was the first Junior handler to put a rally title on a GSD when
Rally first started.
Still proud of her for that.
Maybe we need to have some more incentives for our juniors to compete and be
recognized
For their accomplishments in the performance venues. Just a thought to try
and bring some
Of the younger generation into the fold.
Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were
to success when they gave up.........

In the past "Juniors" were only for those in conformation that were
recognized for these special awards, are you now including "Juniors" in the
performance areas as well or will this continue to be conformation only?
Just asking since my "Junior" (by age definition) is no longer a Junior. I
see that AKC is now offering discounted entry fees for Juniors in the
performance areas if the clubs elect to offer that. Juniors in the
performance areas compete with the adults for the same titles and placings,
the only difference is, that they are 18 and under.

I have donated gold medals for all Juniors, and contributions are coming in.
I have talked to the AKC, and sent a letter today to the GSDCA. I don't
want the Fund to become intwined with the GSDCA, but would like the GSDCA to
recognize it. Extra stuff is always a good idea.
And, keep sending the donations. 100% of what I get is going to the Junior
winner.
