Years ago I was nominated to be on the nominating committee. At the time,
the treasurer, whose name shall not be mentioned, (Eugene), said I had not
paid my dues, and my check had bounced. Len Steen called me about midnight
to see what it was all about. He and Kathy were quite upset, and wanted to
be sure I knew what was being said about me at the board meeting.
I told him I knew nothing about it, I doubted that my check did bounce, but
it was possible. Hell, anything is possible.
Eugene called me the next day and appolgized. He had gotten me mixed up
with some one else, and he knew my check cleared and I was a member in good
standing. He went on and on with how sorry he was.
I think he was afraid I was going to sue him. In truth, I laughed about
it.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
