I disagree. As someone with two good bitches, who got an 11 last weekend,
(two thirds, one first and a fourth), we have great competition not less. We
have less numbers, but there is little in the ring today that does not
deserve points.
I have no complaints for my 11. The bitches in front of mine were as good
or better.
We keep saying the smaller entries make it easier. I remember when a
class of 20 had 18 that would never finish. Today with a class of five, they
are
all worthy of points.
We continue to improve the breed. We get better and better dogs. It
probably is a factor of the economy, but we don't show dogs just for the heck
of it any more. If they aren't show quality they are not in the ring.
That is a good thing.
