Nancy was kind enough to send me the BOB picture of Midas.
Just over the left top corner of my computer monitor is a picture of Kierk
going BOB under Brenda Newby. I looked at the two pictures and was astonished
to see what I hadn't realized.
Brenda told me that day she could have watched Kierk trot all day. I felt the
same way about Midas when he entered my ring on Saturday. I looked at the
pictures and recognized how similar they were in the prime of them both. Kierk
in March of 2014, and Midas in April of 2018.
But, Midas had two more shows and two more Best of Breeds to collect last
weekend. So, I gave up asking him to take a dozen more passes.
Nancy and I were able to reminisce after the shows about when Desmo and Big Ben
were trying to finish at the same show. The Guz on Desmo, and me on Ben. We
both wanted to win, probably as much as at any show, or with any other dogs.
I guess a great dog is a great dog.

When it came time to pick Best of Breed, I got to see for the first time, from
inside the ring. Midas. Enough said.

And that was my reaction the first time I saw him. Exceptional@
