I just thought I would pass along some information regarding Holiday Inn's
and Holiday Inn Express motels. They have a new, company wide cancellation
policy: If you cancel your reservation before 6:00 p.m. the night of your
reservation, you will be charged a $25.00 fee. If you cancel your
reservation after 6:00 p.m., you will be charged for one nights stay. No
exception.
Many of us stay at Holiday Inn's for dog events - and we all know way in
advance (for the most part) if we are not going to be attending a
particular
event, thus we cancel weeks in advance, not the day of. You can cancel a
month in advance now, and you will be charged $25.00 for doing so. The man
we spoke with told us that we should "rally the troops" and get everyone
calling and emailing their unhappiness with the new policy and see if we
can't get it changed. I know I certainly wouldn't mind paying a $25
cancellation fee if it were "close" to the stay, but to have to pay it,
when
I might cancel via the internet (i.e. without anyone's help) a MONTH prior
is ridiculous. The man at the reservations line agreed and said that they
will be the ones taking the brunt of this new policy! (as I can only
imagine!)
