It is an awesome experience!! We sure highly recommend it. There are not
many things more
beautiful in this Breed than getting a chance to see your dogs get a chance to
herd as they were bred
to do. They are in their element ......it's what they do.....and they love
getting the chance to utilize their
instincts and make their own decisions. It's incredible how talented the dogs
are at reading the sheep
while trying to pay attention to the trainer to learn AKC rules.....<G>
Problem is you can't take your eyes of your dog......and those wooly critters
are coming at you.....<G>

I am happy to report that the early birds are rushing to make sure they get
entered in the instinct tests at the National. We are offering two styles of
testing (see the herding article in the August Review) and it is terrific that
people are excited about the chance to test their show dogs for herding
instinct.
We are offering both the official AKC HIC which requires 2 tests under 2
different judges and the GSDCA instinct certificate for those of you who can
only enter one day. Entries are limited and the demand is high - so if you want
to make sure you have a spot, enter early.
Tests are Wednesday and Thursday right at the show site.
Come out and give it a try -- you're dogs will love it! And if you doubt it,
ask people like the Kish's, Carolyn Martello, Ann Schultz, Sharlana & Gloria,
and lots and lots of other owners/breeders of top show dogs who fell in love
with the woolies. We know your dog will do fine and be very kind to you because
YOUR instinct probably is nowhere as good as your dog's :-)
