I don't buy the "inbred dogs have them". It's a recessive gene. My last litter of 11 - 5 had them. And that litter was just about the farthest you can get from inbred. :-) I knew dad carried a gene for it, but I didn't know about momma as there wasn't any in any litter I had seen out of her dam or her grandam. I can place it back to her paternal grandsire (a Conan Survival son) as I have seen other kids and grandkids out of him that had them, but were different bloodlines.
