Hi Fran, I do believe you are right about Germany. There are a lot of breeder
kennels in Germany and they make it a fill time profession, breeding, training
,showing and selling their own dogs. Also their dogs are shown different than
owers becaues they are looking for a different responcr from their dogs than we
are. They are showing the working ability of their dogs. That approch is also
what the WDA is taking and their clubs are growing. We do need to take a look
at

Hi Bob,
Do they show shepherds in conformation in Germany the way we do? My
understanding is that many are owner handled, though I don't know where I
gleaned that information. I presume they're aging at the same rate we are. <G>
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!
Do you think there's ANY chance at ANY time in the future that GSDs will be
shown in a more moderate way? Can't a judge determine correct movement without
having the dogs racing at break-neck speed? Doesn't excessive speed allow a
handler to mask faults?
I'm not putting you on. I'm seriously curious about the answers.
