I think it has alot to do with the corn ect in the foods too. Alot of these
foods are nothing but corn. The food that the people I had mentioned switched
to is grain free and is a fish base(salmon) so there is no chicken or beef in
it at all. So yes it could be that there may have been a chicken allergy or
something like that but I still stand firm that corn should not be a first
ingredient in dog foods or any ingredient for that matter. If you want info on
the food I will gladly share but I DO NOT want to start a food war of any sort.
I feed raw but I send my pups home on this food now because most people will
not feed raw sadly and it is reasonable and VERY VERY good without the super
high protien of some of the other grain free types.

Food allergies are the single biggest cause of old dog smell and icky coat.
Change the meat and often the problem goes away without even a bath. I have
had this happen with several dogs. I change the meat, not the brand, and the
dogs are fine.

I have begun to allergy test my dogs for food only. Environmental allergins
I refuse to deal with. That is what antihistimes are for.

My dogs, from Liddy, all have a bad allergy to chicken. It is not allowed
near the dogs, no matter what. I can use chicken liver for bait now and then,
but more than that will cause gut problems and if I were to use it long enough,
smelly, icky coat.

Tell anyone who complains about the dog needing weekly baths cause they smell
funny to either try switching the meat, or gettting the dog tested.

I have known a few different people who switched foods for that very reason
    and had great success.
