Well, I'd have to check my records but it's been a few years now since we
returned the selection of futurity judges to the regional clubs. In about 1992
we set up a system whereby the judge's were elected nationally, much like the
national judges, and then assigned regions to judge at the Board meeting at the
National. The regional clubs and membership did not really like this system
and the clubs wanted to be able to select their judges to go with the futurity
judge. So probably around 97 or so the Board voted to let the regional clubs
again submit the judges they wanted to the Board as they had previously.
There may be a better system tho I don't know if one can ever please
everybody.
