I agree with Tom on this one. At least let experienced breeder/judges offer
an opinion on who the Board is considering for regional judges.
Experienced breeders, with an extensive history in the breed and who may/or
may not be actively exhibiting, should at least be given the common courtesy of
voicing their opinions on the selection of judges for the Futurity/Maturity
shows. The Board should consider their input as a valuable resource to aid in a
decision that will impact on the future of the breed. The Board doesn't have
to agree with their input, but at least the Board will show that they are
involving the "grass roots" of the breed.
As for how you select who is an "experienced breeder/judge", since the
majority of the Board is made up of experienced breeders/judges, a
Futurity/Maturity
judges selection committee should not be a problem to construct.
Anyway, for what it's worth, that's my two cents. I could go on, but I'll
leave it there. Putting up the flame protector, NOW!
