My father bought me my first gsd when I was 7 yrs old because I kept bringing
sick strays home. I wanted a "Lassie dog", but my father had been impressed
with gsds in the Korean War and thought one would be a good companion for the
little girl who liked to go miles into the woods by herself. He was right! No
one else in my family has been to a dog show.

Oh my = My mother was totally afraid of dogs= Did not want to come in my
house if a dog was in. When my first love Nytscke was about 8 years old she
finally consented to come in with him loose because I refused to put him out
in the middle of winter. The dogs have always been my passion not even my
husband is interested in fact he has never been to a dog show.
