Futurity news from the board meeting. 😊
1. The clubs for the 2018 Futurities were approved. I will post the list
soon.......
2. Going forward, submission of pedigrees will no longer be required for
Futurity litter nomination. The pedigrees needed for the Red Book are the top
20 sires and dams. Our hard working Red Book chair, Kim McNamara contacts the
owners of these dogs to send pedigrees directly to her. We hope to get the
GSDCA website updated with this information soon!
3. Lastly, also going forward, litter nominations will close the day before the
LAST futurity closes. This means if you have a litter born 10/1/15 through
9/30/16 that you forgot about, you can still nominate and then enter in a 2017
Futurity/Maturity. The $150 fee for nominating a litter 121 days or older will
apply. With the new staggered closing dates, there is no reason that we have
to close nominations at the beginning of the Futurity season as in past years
with one closing date. Remember that if you do happen to wait until the very
last minute you will need to pay by credit card so we can verify payment and
give you the litter number.
