Nominating a litter is cheaper than registering a litter or entering a dog show
even without
being free. Entering a Futurity is cheaper than entering a dog show.
The expense is if you do SEVERAL and hire an expensive handler for several.
THAT is a CHOICE some people make.....but most of those do the same with the
shows!
In general most big Futurity and Maturity winners are either Champions or will
be Champions.
"Most".....and I did say "most"...( not all ) ......breeders are still very
interested in showing their
young progeny in the Futurity. Most or many cannot compete with a big time
handler with all
of the progeny they might have from just one litter......let alone two.

That is why I am so disappointed that the original idea of "amateur" was not
a CLASS added to the
"Regular" Futurity instead of made a whole SEPARATE Futurity.
Defeats it's own purpose IMO.
The interest in Futurities is still there......just the cost of them is not
there for most of us. <G>
Most people call them a "Match"...........and yet the handlers charge more!
GO FIGURE!!
I could see it for the dogs that win and go to compete for Futurity / Maturity
Victor or Victrix. at the
National......but I don't get it for just a local Futurity.........

interested in nominating a litter with the
additional costs? I guess what we need to know if how many took advantage of
the free nominations, and then
see how many pay that didn't pay before.
