Esbilac makes a product called 2nd step for weaning ($30 for 5 lbs). I
love, love, love Royal Canin mother and baby mousse (canned, 3 to a pack,
small cans, think cat food) to mix in, then move to their puppy starter (looks
like kibble but with water, has a coating of formula and changes to mush
almost immediately, GSD puppy on the bag, I mention because the have dozens
of varities), then on to their regular kibble, soaked.
PERFECT stools, puppies that go right to eating. (I never got it right w/
the make your own formulas! I had constipated puppies w/ the old baby
cereal recipies!!!)
I use Bene Bac (gel before they are lapping), but they now has a powder
that I sprinkle on food during the weaning process, when I worm the puppies
(2-3-4-6-8 weeks, Nemex II) and when they have an immunization.
