Years ago I had to give up one of my dogs because a "neighbor" had turned me in for having too many, according to the county ordinance. The people that took him moved away, and I did not see him for about six years. On one of their trips they came by to see me, with the dog, and he went just crazy when he saw me. They say an elephant never forgets. Neither does a German Shepherd Dog. As to the "neighbor", their house burned to the ground a couple of years ago.
