Finally the Pilot heard my boomy Alpha Bitch voice and came out to see what the problem was..... Back in the olden days when we used to fly to a lot of shows, like before retirement- I use to ask, immediately upon boarding, "Can you tell me if my dog is on board, Delta always tells me" They would jump through hoops to check and tell me. Plus my travel agent had to get me seats on the right side of the plane where I could watch luggage being loaded. Regulations called for dogs to be last on and first off. I could often hear them barking before they closed the luggage door.
