I have a couple of questions to you who go away and spend several days at dog shows. Who takes care of your dogs that are left at home if they are mostly house dogs? I really want to spend more time at shows but I am alone and there is no one to take care of the three dogs who won't be traveling with me. Boarding them locally is prohibitive at $25 a day each. I have the option of hiring a local boy who is 13 to come in and feed them and put them in at night. They would be in outside runs that go into a heated garage. Is 13 too young to dog sit? I am a worry wart when it comes to the dogs. I hate the idea of them being alone all day and night. Is it all right to leave them in the garage all night and not have them in the house at all when I am gone? I do live in the suburbs so noise is a concern. The second question, what do you do with the dogs who go with you? Do you bring them in the motel room with you or leave them in crates in the van? Just curious as to what the rest of you would do.
