Before anyone goes out and buys Diatemaceous Earth (DE), Please read the info
below and visit the website below.
USE only FOOD Grade DE to kill insects. If anyone has a swimming pool and uses
Swimming pool DE in the filter, you know the hazards and warnings. It is
hazardous to humans, animals and fish, it is not the same as Food grade DE that
is used for insects. You do not want to inhale, get in eyes, or mucous
membranes. When you empty a filter with the DE/water you do not dispose where
it will run in a stream, river, etc or down a drain, because it will kill fish,
etc. It is not the same composition as Food Grade.
WARNING! HARMFUL IF INHALED. CAUSES IRRITATION TO SKIN, EYES AND RESPIRATORY
TRACT. MAY AFFECT LUNGS. CANCER HAZARD. CONTAINS CRYSTALLINE SILICA WHICH CAN
CAUSE CANCER. Risk of cancer depends upon duration and level of exposure.
Label Precautions:
Do not breathe dust.
Keep container closed.
Use only with adequate ventilation.
Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing.
Wash thoroughly after handling.
Label First Aid:
If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. In case of contact, immediately flush
eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated
clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. In all cases, get medical
attention.
