[ SHOWGSD-L ] Counting Blessings - long

This has been a very rough year. I left a teaching position that I loved
and am now at a place that I do not enjoy. I no longer look forward to each
day at school, but rather a day at work. The plus side is that I have a job
while many others do not. Additionally, these students truly need me while my
students at the other school will learn no matter who is in front of the
room.
I will no longer be active in my local club, for reasons this list is not
interested in, but I am a member of a club that enjoys each member and makes
them feel welcome regardless of location. Blessings to the Santa Maria club.
This year my mother fell and has not been the same. She requires a lot of
assistance from me, but she is alive and for that I am blessed.
This Thanksgiving the house will be full. The only "family" will be my Mom,
but I count my neighbor as my "sister" and Carol Hudd will be here and I
look upon her as a "sister." It is a lot of work going from two to nine for
dinner, but I am blessed in having "family" to sit around the table and food
to
feed them while others go hungry.
We are finally landscaping the yard and working on the interior. It will
cost much, it is 17,000 sq. ft, but I am blessed to have a job that will
enable
me to accomplish the task. (Party at my house Saturday of the Las Vegas
shows if you want to come.)
This list is a blessing. When a dog is ill or advice needed, the list can
be counted on to respond.
And finally, a place where I can say "God bless you and yours on this day of
thanks," without the ACLU finding me.
