Why not?..the dog is spayed ..can't be bred..can't be shown(only in
performance which would allow for hanging ears anyhow)..if it makes the
owners feel good about the dogs appearance..why not?...I think the intent
of the AKC rule about not altering a dogs appearence is to be taken under
the pretense..that a dog that has been altered in appearance that is not
part of that breed standard or to otherwise fix a disqualifying fault to
make the showable is unethical. Christine Grainger
