I hear this a lot from those who no longer are showing. I think the world
of Helen, and she knows it. But, I also keep hearing people who have
stopped showing say how terrible it is to show in a venue with 30 or so
entered.
Try to finish a dog today, with that small an entry, and that high a
quality. We who still compete realize it is just as hard to get those
points,and just as difficult to get a champion.
If anyone doesn't believe that, breed a puppy, and come on down.
It amazes me when people insist on how much better it used to be. I heard
that from my parents, they heard it from their parents, and I refuse to say
it to those young whippersnappers who never walked ten miles through the
snow to go to school, uphill both ways.
