I came to Florida at the end of 1992 with my father, Magic, and Sammie my cat.
They were my support system after Alan died. Well they are all gone now. One
day before I left to go the Board meeting I had to put Sammie to sleep. She
was 20.
All I can say from my experience is that Sammie knew when my spirits were
down and she would insist on sitting in my lap. That was her way of comforting
me. Cats are very smart and can be taught a lot. Sammie was a talker and she
let me know when she wanted something. One time she was at the water bowl
meowing very loudly as Siamese do. The bowl is one of those plastic bowls that
shine. It looks like it has water in it when it doesn't. I went over and it
was dry. She was letting me know that she did not have any water.
I loved them all and miss them very much.
