San Mateo's Peninsula Humane Society (PHS), the shelter in 1990 that
created
the "San Mateo" law has taken a "no official position" on AB 1634. What is
of interest to everyone around the country is the statement by Scott
Delucchi, PHS Vice President that the San Mateo law "results were
disappointing."
Read the article and send your comments to the reporter where shown. It
would
be positive if PHS were to have the courage to strongly oppose this
ordinance
as this would encourage other animal agencies to take a similar stand.

The San Mateo Daily Journal you appreciate Scot Delucchi's recognition that
this bill will be difficult to enforce and you support his choice of other
paths to reduce the numbers of homeless animals in his shelter.
