[ SHOWGSD-L ] Buying a good one

Wow, in reading some of the responses in this chain, I guess I should consider
myself VERY lucky or maybe I don't know what a good one is, though I'm fairly
certain I do.
I've been in the game of showing for 6 years now. I currently own 3 GSDs. All
3 of my dogs were sold to me by different people with 2 purchased as puppies
and one as an adolescent. I've experienced a sour co-ownership and a great
co-ownership. My first has been critiqued as about as correct as you can find,
though she's never been flashy. The second has turned heads his whole career.
Gorgeous male, though maybe not the best with people, and myself and his
co-owner were able to finish this guy under some tough competition. Maybe
neither will go Select at the Nationals, but that's okay. I've enjoyed the
ride and learned a lot.
Now I get to start over again with my 3rd show dog, a puppy that I've had for
about a month. This girl is already getting TONS of positive feedback from
people and while still a puppy and has to grow up, we expect this girl will be
a star in her own right. You bet you'll be hearing me brag about this little
one and I intend to do it entirely owner/handled! I intend to show her at the
Nationals this year in the owner/handler class, so you can look for me in the
ring.
So I ask again, am I just lucky or is everyone's definition of a "good one"
different?
