My daughter just called. They have so much snow and it is snowing right now
while she's on her way home.
I remember telling this list that the snow was piling up to the point where
the dogs could walk over the fence. Her husband was out of town and she
herself was gone all day working.

When she came home yesterday she found a dead chicken at her front door with
a note to tell her that her dogs had killed all their chickens. Two of her
dogs had walked over the fence in her absence and helped themselves to a
meal. These dogs are well taken care of and have no need to do that. There
was no name with the note, so she assumed that it was her neighbor where she
had seen some chickens a while back. So she takes the chicken, wraps it up
and puts it on the neighbor's doorstep with a note saying that they could
have handled it in a different way than placing the dead chicken at her door
and that she would not mind reimbursing for their loss. The next door lady
comes back with the chicken and tells her that they have not had any
chickens for years and it was not theirs. She then considered going around
the neighborhood trying to find out who this chicken belonged to but at this
point this poor thing was hardly recognizable anymore, probably had not been
for a while so it was disposed of rather than passing it on to other
neighbors. In the meantime the snow had to be moved so that the dogs could
not get out again, which was a major undertaking. Something to come home to
after a day's work!

Most people have fences around their yards so how could the dogs get to the
chickens and why did these people not leave their names, phone # or address?
This is a mystery. What was not a mystery was the fact that these two did
not want to eat their supper - wonder why?
