You can't expect a dog to automatically know which of two people in a fight he is being sent after, if both are behaving in an aggessive or agitated manner. That is not always true!!!!!!! My police dog "Tuffy" was left on a watch command while I handcuffed a suspect. The suspect started to resist..... Tuffy came without command as did my back up Officers (not a smart move). I had taken the suspect to the ground and the other Officers also went to the ground..... "Tuffy" went into the pile and found the suspects leg!!!!! Suspect booked into USC Medical Center, Jail Ward NO Officers injured. It should be noted that when we trained our dogs for the LA County Sheriff, the handlers and all other Officers wore uniforms... the agitator/ bad guy wore street cloths. H.C.
