In an election this week in Long Beach, Assemblywoman Laura
Richardson, who lied to us by promising to abstain and who then
voted for AB1634 in the California Assembly, beat Senator Jenny
Oropeza, who promised to vote against Levine's bill. Richardson is
now going to Washington, D.C. as a Congresswoman.
The people of Long Beach have spoken and they gave us the finger,
again.
How much of this does AKC need before it acknowledges that spending
a dime in Long Beach is a bad idea for dog lovers? I ask you all,
again, to write to AKC and ask them to move the Long Beach
Nationals, immediately, and to find a friendlier venue for the 2007
show. If the show goes on in Long Beach, please boycott it. Don't
reward these people who hate us and our animals.
AKC says they want to use Long Beach as a bargaining chip in the
California Senate. But this isn't about the Senate, it is about
Long Beach as a choice of venue. AKC can pull the show from Long
Beach and still use the possibility of moving it to somewhere else
in California as their "bargaining chip."
Contact AKC now and have your breed club do the same.
