Denny Kodner was the judge when I showed for the very first time. I was 10
years old and showed a 6-9 bitch "Shannon" who was my first show dog and best
friend. I went reserve from the 6-9 class that day and although many hundreds
of shows between then are now are forgettable, I remember that day as if it
happened yesterday. I remember everyone who was there and exactly how the ring
was set up and the colors and lighting inside the building, and so much more.
It was a great day. LOL That is the day I knew I wanted to show dogs and
Denny Kodner played a big part in that. She was a great judge, always very
funny in the ring, so kind and supportive to a clumsy child who tried so
hard..... and most improtantly she made every show special for exhibitors and
handlers.

Sad news. Just read on Judge's-L that Denny Kodner passed on Sunday. Don't know
nything else at this time. While Denny becasme known as an All Breed judge in
ecent years, Denny started out in GSDs and was quite well known as a GSD
andler. We are seeing the end of an era with the passing of those who were the
oundation of this breed in the US.
